EDITOR
I am currently in my first year of a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Liège, specializing in adult clinical psychology, delinquency, and addiction. Passionate about psychology, I am particularly interested in psychotraumatology, as it touches on fundamental aspects of the human condition. Nearly 90% of people in the general population will experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime (Brillon, 2004; Breslau et al., 1998). The consequences of trauma, whether personal, social, or environmental, can have profound impacts on individuals’ lives. My desire to understand and support those facing difficult challenges motivates me to specialize in this field. I am a highly dedicated person who always gives my best in every project. Naturally curious, I love to learn, grow, and expand my skills, whether through my studies, work, or even my hobbies. Sports and adrenaline-fueled activities also play an important role in my life. I practice weight training, swimming, and scuba diving, for which I have already earned several certifications. My goal is to become a diving instructor and to explore other sports such as paragliding, for which I plan to obtain certification soon. I also have a strong passion for art and creative activities. I paint, draw, embroider, and hope to learn crochet. After completing my studies, I would like to pursue training in art therapy, to combine my love for the arts with my passion for psychology. I’m grateful to be part of the Healing Together project, as it addresses a topic related to psychology and one that deeply resonates with my personal journey. During a time in my life when I was going through major difficulties, even though I was used to seeing mental health professionals individually, I felt the need for something different: to be part of a group, to share my story with others who had faced similar experiences and who could truly understand what I was going through. Hearing other people’s stories would also have helped me feel less alone. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to find a group therapy program. The information was hard to access, and at a time when it already takes a lot of energy just to acknowledge that you need help and to go looking for it, I eventually gave up on the idea and chose to see an individual therapist instead. I truly believe that Healing Together has the potential to bring significant benefits, both at an individual and societal level. This kind of initiative can genuinely make a difference in many people's lives.

What is addiction? We’re all a little “hooked” on something. For some, it’s sports; for others, chocolate, video games, shopping… Addiction becomes problematic and dangerous when it causes suffering and significantly affects a person’s daily life and functioning. What sets…
